“No one should have to learn another language to find out how to spend eternity with God.”
-Paul Eshleman, founding director of Jesus Film Project®
Since 1979, Jesus Film has been using the film 'Jesus' to reach people in their own heart language. In that time, more than 570 Million people have indicated decisions for Christ after seeing the film. Millions of churches have been planted through church planting partners. Today, Jesus Film has been translated into over 2000 languages worldwide, more than double the number of translated languages of any other film ever made.
However, in the modern age of technology and media, we are finding that many people around the world are more likely to be reached with media that is more contextualized and culturally relevant to where they’re living and the issues they’re dealing with.
My (Perry) team within Jesus Film is at the forefront of innovation in developing media ministry tools that can be used across the globe. We have created or acquired over 50 short films to be used as spiritual conversation starters. Many of these films are contextualized to be effective in specific countries around the globe. We have the vision to continue expanding our short film library so that we have something in our catalog that can connect with everyone, right where they are.
One of my specific focuses is on using new platforms such as audio (podcasting, audio drama) and Youtube as ministry tools. I hope to create content that can engage audiences and move them closer to Jesus.
My team within Jesus Film has the vision of creating a space that absolutely anyone can come to and find thought-provoking, relevant, and engaging spiritual content and hopefully move one step closer to Jesus. You can watch one of the short films, Puzzler, where I had the opportunity to be a Script Supervisor. The film was specifically created as a conversation starter for ministry in the Middle East.
